Conservation / Listed BuildingsWork required on listed buildings and on properties that fall within a conservation area may need to be approved by your local Council planning department prior to commencement of the work. The planning department will advise the style of windows, doors, conservatory etc. that are permitted as well as the thickness of glazing, width of glazing bars and colour of stain or paint finishes allowed. They will also advise if you will need to make any formal application for planning permission or conservation area/listed building consent together with any application fees that may be involved.
